What it is: A 2 day (August 16th & 17th) 150 mile roundtrip form The Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds to Sandusky, Ohio and back, to raise funds and awareness for the National MS Society.
What it does: In raising awareness of MS, it helps create understanding for those who have MS, an understanding of its symptoms, and for those who have MS, an understanding that they aren't alone. In raising funds, it supports both research to find a cure for MS, and provides education and support services for MS patients, their physicins, and the general public.
Why I'm doing this: because I have a number of family and friends who have MS. Every one of them is a hero to me, and in this small way I can return the favor.
What you can do to help:
Ride! Go to: http://www.msohiobike.org/ and click on "Register" at the bottom of the page to Register to ride. It is a great, well supported ride (not a race) and makes a very pleasant introduction to distance cycling.
Sponsor me! Go to http://main.nationalmssociety.org/goto/Chris.Kotting and Click on "Donate to Event" (Just below the "Thermometer") to donate online. PM me if you want to sponsor me without using a Credit Card.
