Help me out, Mid-Atlantic people. Is there anything but overpriced shops here? Is there anyplace you can go dig through a bin of used parts and pay a reasonable price? Is there anywhere you can chip in and use some tools/stand/grease etc?

Thanks!

I see two on the map. I would try a variety of searches of the directory, too, or look at the Wiki, because I find that not everyone shows up on the map.

I would check these 2 in Arlington: Phoenix Bikes (http://phoenixbikes.org/joomla/index.php) and Bulldog Bike Restoration (http://www.bulldogbikerestoration.com/index.html) Bulldog advertises a lot on craigslist. Also check Oasis Bikes (http://www.oasisbikeworks.com/) near GMU in Fairfax. There may be a co-op where you can use tools in DC as well.

Thanks everyone! I'll check these places out. I wish I lived closer to Mount Ranier MD! (I'm in S Arlington).

If you want directions, send me a PM. It's not a bad ride. I commuted on my bike between Mount Rainier and Alexandria for four years.
