Great Lakes - RRB Cycles

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Has anyone here heard of RRB Cycles in Kenilworth, IL (Chicagoland area)? Has anyone owned a RRB bike before? I am thinking of having them build me a bike. What can you tell me about them?
Thanks
While the shop is still around, I don't think they build custom frames anymore.

I know Ron is a great frame craftsman, but I couldn't tell you if he'll design and build anymore. Last time I was there was to get a Trek aligned and to buy a bike for my wife. 25 years ago I had him rebuild a mangled fork for me. I saw a few frames he made, and they were beauties. If he will still do a custom job, I'd consider buying from him. There are a couple of Michigan builders, but I like Ron's straightforward no nonsense approach.

So, I spoke with my uncle about the shop, shortly after making this thread, and apparently he has been going there for decades to get his bikes serviced and spoke very highly of Ron and his operation. I went into the shop and ended up putting down an order for them to build me a bike using their RRB frame. They still fabricate their own frames in-house, but those go for around 2 grand. They also have a mass produced steel frame made overseas, that uses the same geometry as their-in house frames and looks to be of high quality, so I'm getting a bike built using one of those. It should be ready sometime later this week, and I'm anticipating a very nice riding and quality assembled bike. Boy am I excited :twitchy:, seems like I have been waiting a month for this bike, even though its been less than a week since i ordered it!!
If anyone is interested in seeing what the current RRB frame looks like, I'll figure out how to post up some pictures when I get it later this week.
I got some wrong info then. Good to see they are still in the biz. Love to see the pics.
