General Cycling Discussion - What bike do you wish you had?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

One more question. Which bike do y'all wish you had?
I'd love to have a newer road bike. My 1978 Raleigh Grand Prix 10speed is cool, however, I think a newer ride would be nice.

a trek madone 5.9!

...a newer specialized bighit. Maybe the expert. I prefer the paint jobs ;)
Too many to wish for, as soon as I had one I would want the other or another! But I like the simplicity and reliability of my 84 Trek with Suntour Superbe friction system.
I rode the madone 5.9 and it is stiff! ugh. Oh well, it's really light.
The Giant carbons I like but my ultimate must be the Litespeed Vortex.

I like my Klein and my Fuji touring bikes.. Sort of wish I had a titatinum bike- guess Litespeed and maybe a Bruce Gordon touring bike...
Instead of crossing a continent, maybe might dream of circumventing the whole planet...Have met two people who have..They lived to tell their tale..(That is, if I had a touring bike of the quality of a Bruce Gordon...have to justify it somehow..)
Just thinking of crossing the world...Would it be fair to fly to Australia. Cross Australia....Then fly to India and from there ride to Paris. Then back to New York and cross North America....(Not cheating, if we fly over war zones? )Yeah, think that is the route I would choose.

I'd really like a custom Rivendell Touring bike since we are talking wishes here. But I probably will get a Rivendell Atlantis next year.

I'd absolutely love a Trek 5200 with some upgraded components. I'm sure the Madone and 5900 are awsome bikes, but the added cost would probably make me too paranoid about damage.

there is too many to even mention.
I'm with others that there are way too many to list. However, right now becuase of my travel schedule, I have my heart set on an air-transportable bike. I've been trying to save up for a Co-Motion Espresso with the Co-Pilot breakdown option.
http://www.co-motion.com/espresso.html
I am fortunate to be able to afford (and have bought) exactly the bikes I want:
Litespeed Tuscany ('02)
Specialized S-Works Epic ('04)
So, I guess the answer to the question is... there isn't one.

The 1973 Peugeot PX10e I bought during college for like $400
It was stolen in the 1990's in Seattle.
One of life's great tragedies. Some of you will know what i am talking about.

Colnago C50 (NL4), built up with Campy Record. Or a Pinarello Prince, or (since we're dreaming) Pinarello Dogma.

Well... for a road bike i'm still deciding on which road bike to buy, but for a mountain bike i'd like a Hardrock Sport. I wouldn't want something too expensive for playing in the park.

I was just saying to my GF last night that if I had some money over for a really nice bike, I would go for a De-Rosa. There's just something about their styling that speaks to me. This one is beautiful for instance:
(Shame about their homepage though - sized too large for the browser and really difficult to send someone a link to a particular product. Especially as right-clicking is disabled, makes it hard to send someone a link to a particular sub-page).
Ok, If I have to I'd like an Ottrott, if not that
a Richard Sachs, or Dave Kirk.
or late 60s Pogliaghi or Cinelli.
Marty
A Serotta custom, prob Ti, designed to both fit me, and the riding I hope to do.

Our Double Vision recumbent tandem with front suspension and underseat steering is the ultimate cycling machine. I wish for nothing else!!
The new Kirk KCS
Oooh... that's damn sexy!
OK, I cried and winned so now here are my top 3...4...5, ok now wait lets just stay with 3; and the winners are: Colnago MXL, Cinelli Super Corsca and Look KG 386. But I will probably change my mind!

In no real order:
IF Crown Jewel (maybe this spring)
Jamis Dakar XLT 3.0 I may just go for a XLT 2.0 frame and build that up, since I have some of the parts that are on the XLT 3.0
and a Flying Pegion [http://momovelo.com/pigeon/DSC01202.jpg]
Maybe a Vanilla (http://vanillabicycles.com)track frame, but Honestly if I got those three bikes, I think I would have everything I want. It also helps that the two bikes I lust after, I also sell so hello shop cost!
A Giant NRS Air (with a carbon fiber frame)...
http://www.giant-bicycle.com/images/_upload_us/bikes/models/zooms/2004/04-NRSAIR.jpg
Or a Trek Madone 5.9 (I don't care how it performs...it looks awesome!)...

That Kirk KCS is gorgeous!
I think I've narrowed it down to 3 possibilities:
Turner Burner
Turner 5-spot
Intense Tracer
Alas, I can barely count to numbers on the price tags. Maybe after I graduate.

Check out Argon 18 PlatinumHDS:

A Rene Herse probably would be first choice.
http://www.classicrendezvous.com/France/Herse/Herse_chrome_demount_1.htm
But I'd settle for a Masi Gran Crit.
