I commited to a charity ride of 100miles on Sept 07. So as I am rather new at this I am soliciting advice.
Today I rode 50km, (30 miles), in just under 2 hours. I am feeling pretty good, I am still breaking in my new Brooks B17 saddle.
Not feeling too bad, however it was colder than I thought and my knees got sore, I think it was due to the temperature 16 c.
Any advice or suggestions on how to prepare would be appreciated, I am currently increasing my riding to 3 long rides (over 1.5 hours), per week plus my normal rides of around an hour the other 3 days. I try to keep my heart rate below 120, and pedal cadence above 85 on the long runs.
I turn 49 tomorrow, weigh 205Ibs and am 5'10".
Thanks in advance.
Paul.
