Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I shall endeavour to be there on Sunday 3rd Aug, 10:30.
First Sunday of the month is stated clearly in the spurious tome known as the Hyde Park Folding Bicycle Club Handbook [First Edition] [Faber (the other Faber didn't want to know)] (extraordinary meetings excepted)

Hmm, is this an official meeting, has it been ratified by the star chamber, was white smoke actually seen coming from the chimney of Snafu Towers ? Perhaps it is a sort of tribute meeting, orgainised by some of our ex-colonial cousins, in the same reverential tone as the Kounterfeit Kinks, Bootleg Beatles, & Pink Boyd.

Good Man !
I hope you can make it Sir Diode on your Marvellous Mezzo; I will be on my Magical Moulton.
Also Mulleady on his Mooted Gazelle (darn, run out of alliterations)

The Hyde Park Folding Bicycle Club Handbook states regarding extraordinary meetings in chapter 23, paragraph 32, and I quote 'Uh! If you want!'. So seems it is allowed.

Diode on a Mezzo? It wasn't you who whisked past me under the bridge on Farringdon Street under Holborn Viaduct on Tuesday was it? I was the guy too big for my Downtube Mini, wearing chinos and a dark shirt, you were on a chocolate brown Mezzo, I think (I was too interested in the bike to notice the colour or what you were wearing....)

Snafu will be present.
Could someone kindly fax our order for buns down to the kitchens to avoid the bleakest of disappointments?
I shall bring my newly fubar'd Hammerhead, if it fits in my new roller-skate of a 'car'.
As Whipper-In (unelected) I refer Non-Attendees to the Scale of Penalties detailed in para 14, page 216 of the Society Handbook; if you're unable to attend kindly PM me with your Bank details.
Thank you.

No Sammy it wasn't me, I was in milan tuesday, and mine is a sort of kingfisher blue. didnt know they did a chocolate brown one. Must be difficult to get rational business wear to co-ordinte with downtube mini green !

I'm not big on the co-ordinating thing, to be honest, but I'm sure I could get a twin-set and pearls that would match nicely......

Actually, if i saw someone riding a DT Mini in London, i'd be tempted to mug them and make off with it, provided they were smaller than me of course, might even leave 299 pounds in their pocket by way of compensation.

You know that I can sell you a brand spanking Downtube Mini? Right? Simply by following the link in my signature? I'm 6'3 and round 18 stone however, so I don't recommend the mugging approach. Now imagine me in the twin set and pearls, on the bike.....

Yeh, I know you are, it was just banter, honest ! I'd never ride past someone on an interesting folder with out stopping and engaging in converstion though, folder riders are Kings of The Road, without a doubt.
Might i suggest, when sporting the twin set and pearls, you switch to a pink Mezzo mount, still, surprisingly in plentiful supply at dealers !
Have you brought in any more DT Mini's is the duty & tax situation any clearer ?
Sammyboy
07-31-08, 09:04 AM
I've just sold my first - it's on its way to Belgium. I don't think there's any way we can avoid the duty following it (at least none that I can find), but I think we can confidently predict the total price!

"The bigger they are the quicker they fall"
A good judo throw would do the job then run with the Mini :D

Based on this clause, I'd like to charge Snafu with a breach for non-attendance of the very first inaugral meeting of the HPFS. Please transfer the £1000 fine for this to my account asap and provide all your personal details.

The huge 4x4 did not consume enough of the world's remaining resources quickly enough, so I chopped it in for the Flying Chicken. (http://www.alexlawrieskoda.co.uk/skoda-blog/skoda-fabia-vrs/)
60 mpg, and 0-Casualty in seven seconds. Only holds one folding bicycle though...

Good mpg but the price of diesel in the UK is even more of a killer don't you think?

When proceeding along Her Majesty's motorways at a notable lick, the dashboard computational contrivance reads '48 mpg'. This is at speeds where it would be unwise to wear a top hat.
There is a savage beauty to turbo-charged intercooled high-compression roller-skates, and I'm waiting for Downchoob to adopt the technology..

Doesn't your downtube run on the turbocharged SNAFU Unit?
For the uninitiated SNAFU= Supercharged Nano Automated Farting Unit (Runs on human methane fuelled by baked beans)

Some several of us were there, Hyde Park, first Sunday of the Month.
Ah I see the problem! You're still using the 'Julian' Calendar whereas the rest of us adopted the 'Gregory' in 1582. When do you celebrate Easter? That's always confusing.

Tut! An exciting day. I crashed spectacularly, nearly got arrested, and so forth.
The *******ised HH7 is unloaded from the Flying Chicken:
A posse is sent out to hunt down Mulleady and bring the fugitive to justice...
We cycle past Bukingham Palace, where a band has been laid on for us.
It's a bit, like cloudy
A young couple stop by to admire the Mezzo, the Moulton and the weird HH7.
We espy the MI5 building hiding behind a Henry Moore bronze. Shortly after this pic was taken I had an interface moment with a policeman, and a further one with the kerb. Both were unpleasant...
The band were still there when we returned, obviously marching around, looking for us...
Very nice pootle. Had to get back to the car at 13:00 though, then it hissed it down..
Cloudy shot over the Thames:

I threatened the very security of the Nation by riding a weird looking bicycle up the Mall, while 'closed to traffic', accompanied by nefarious accomplices, then asked a policeman outside the Palace if it was OK to ride through a red light..
He thought it less than funny.
