Road Cycling - Disc/Tri spoke wheels (or lack there of)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Disc in the rear. Tri in the front seems to be the preferred setup for time trials.
However is there any benefit of running just a tri spoke in the front and normal spoked wheel in the back.

You would get a better benefit from a rear trispoke and a front spoked wheel. Also common is a disc/spoked combo in the same way.
Aero rear wheels make more of a diff for some reason, I think it's because the air is more turbulent back there and an aero wheel helps smooth things out

I think the reason is that cross-winds effect the front wheel more severly, and the more "aero" a wheel is, the more suseptable it is going to be to cross-winds.
