Hi there, I have just started to commute to work. Rather I should say I attempted to, got a puncture after the first 5 miles which I couldn't fix and had to call for rescue.

To preven this happening again I am replacing my cheap and chearful tyres with some Specialized All Condition Armidillo Elite's (700x23c) at the same time I purchased a new set of inner tubes Specialized 700x20/28. However when I have come to fit the inner tubes they seem bigger than wheel rim.

When I emailed the seller they told me they where the right ones.

So basically what I wanted to know if this is actually the case, as I don't want to fit them and then get stranded half way into my 11 mile commute.

They'll be fine, the larger size just makes them more difficult to get installed without pinch-flatting.

I often run a size smaller for this reason - something like an 18/23 - not a size Specialized makes. I think they do have a 18/25, but it's in a lightweight tube, not necessarily what you want for the commute.

...and make sure they're properly inflated (which you check using a gauge!) to avoid one of the most common kind of flats, a pinch flat caused not by road debris but by underinflation.
