Hi, I'm new to the forum - just wondering if there were any PBW (Peregrine Bicycle Works) owners out there? It's a folding bike company located in Chico, California that makes very high-quality folders (admittedly expensive). I've owned ther full-suspension model for a number of years and I have to say it's the best riding and highest quality bike I've ever owned. The folding mechanism is not the easiest in the world; I also own a Brompton for those occasions when I absolutely have to have a bike that will fold into a small space (can't beat the Brompton for pure folding capability). But compared to the PBW, the Brompton is somewhat "toy"-like in feel and does not come anywhere close to replicating the feel of a full-size bike the way the PBW does.
I was just wondering if anyone had a PBW and had done any upgrades to it? Mine is somewhat heavy (probably in the 28 lb. range) and I was wondering if some of the parts could be switched out to carbon or aluminum, like the seatpost, fork, wheels, etc.
On a separate note, I stumbled across this forum when I was looking for a Tyrell SZ, an exotic Japanese non-folding 20" full-suspension compact - if anyone is interested, I managed to obtain the specifications, pricing and ordering information from Japan (to the US)....
