Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'm in. I've already raised my 400 so I'm good to go :). It's sad but I got mad donations from my family because one of my uncles has MS and they all want to help out. I'm really looking forward to this.
http://www.biketofinishms.com/SirGrant Oh, if you are going to donate I'd say donate to someone else who hasn't met the 400 minimum yet. I mean not that I wouldn't appreciate it but I was looking at some of the other links and some of them haven't met the 400 min they will need to ride.

I'm new to the forums but not new to the MS150. My dad has done it the last 3 years now...if anybody went to it last year, he was the guy in the crash test dummies jersey that won the custom parkpre carbon road bike. I'm riding his hand me down clunker right now that's much too big for me, hoping to get my inheritance from my great grandma in time for the ride so I can make a purchase on something that works on my level. Riding a 3-4cm too large bike will most likely have a crappy outcome after 150 miles! Still looking for donations, my dad's the master at that kind of stuff not me. He raised 2000 dollars in just over a month but ofcourse he just puts it towards the team. So if anybody would like to donate, I sure could use a couple extra bucks :)

The bike helmet you see in the pic was custom painted...by me :) That's what I do for a living whenever I can. I am giving it away to the highest donor aside from my wife and her boss...who both happen to be the only ones that have donated thus far lol. So if you want a cool helmet for the price of a simple donation, please donate!

Ooh. Thanks for the reminder. I think I'll join the fray. I did this in Atlanta about 15 years ago; great time.
This ride is point to point as opposed to out & back? So you need a hotel the night before, Day 1 night then still transportation from San Diego back to the start?
- nevermind
^ yes.
irvine to carlsbad, stay overnight.
carlsbad to SD, find a way home.
for $15 or so the MS society will transport you and your bike back to Irvine...

Any suggested training routes? I'm in North County (San Marcos). I can't seem to find any route maps, just elevation info.....150 miles sounds VERY interesting.....

Theee are some training routes suggested by the MS Society and event planning committee listed here and teams also post their training rides here so that you can train with them. This page is accessed by clicking the 'Online Rider Community' menu on the main MS page (http://www.biketofinishms.com/faf/home/default.asp?ievent=258855).
also check out bikely.com, routeslip.com, routeslips.com for additional training rides.
