I have been looking for an e-bike kit but most suppliers appear to be out of stock.
I found this kit at BatterySpace and it looks reasonable - with Li-Ion batteries for $768.

Has anyone on this forum purchased such a kit or dealt with BatterySpace in the past?
Help appreciated. :thumb:

If they're really in stock, looks like good stuff for a front hub rig. 10AH @ 37Vdc = 5.1lbs Future is looking good boys & girls!

Thanks a bunch for your feedback. I'll order the bike kit Monday and will let you know how it goes.

The battery is only rated for 300 cycles. It is not a LiFePO which have much longer life.

Crackerdog, thanks. I was not aware of the LiIon re-charge limitation. I'll keep looking.

Wow - this is a bummer. I thought I found the perfect setup. Lithium batteries. 36V system. All in in stock. And approx $800 total cost. Now that the Li batteries only cycle 300 times - I'm back to looking for a new setup.
Can anyone advise - is it reasonable to get the front wheel and accessories kit from one vendor and the battery from another? Are there standard connectors or am I going to splice the wires anyway?
Is it a safe bet as long as I buy a 24v or 36v or 48v motor and the correspsonding wheel kit?
Do I need to pick a specific power regulator which matches the power demand of the wheel (or is that generally included in the wheel kit)?
(lots of questsion). If I can safely purchase items separately - can anyone recommend a good source for LifePO battery packs?
Thanks. James

Things change quickly, huh? It was only a month ago or so that I bought a BD36 kit form BatterySpace (w/o batts) for a good price. Now that option isn't available. The batteries I bought were from foxxpower.com They offer LiFePO4 at about 90 cents a watt/hr. THe plastic cells are strapped together in a solid brick and they seem much stronger than the foil packs wrapped in duct tape BUT, I have yet to use the system cuz I can't find the time to assemble all my parts! I see cloud EV has kits and there are some on ebay too. If a Li-ion pack would last 400 cycles (sounds low), that is 1.5 years of riding 5 days a week. Not horrible. I have a Giant Lite w/ NiMH pack it it just keeps going & going. Can't wait to feel the Lithium power though.

Well, I think you are right. Things change so quickly, just get something that suits your purpose for now. So, I found the E-Zip from Currie on line at Walmart for $350 and purchased a 2nd Battery and Charger from Currie Tech. I'll give it a go and if I find I use it regularly I'll upgrade the batteries to Li or LifeP04.
