Mountain Biking - Odd but specific wheel value question

I'd planning on super-sizing my next XC bike, and I'd like to buy a super light weight disc wheel set. At first I was determined to go v-brake (for weight savings), but ultimately decided to swap my current discs. Not really interested in a tubeless set, but I'm wondering how light you can go with a standard 32 hole front and rear set-up? Poking around on the net, there's plenty of 1600g options, but it seems like sub 1500g and the field narrows. Any idea if there are any wheel sets in the sub 1400g or 1300g range? Has any one out ridden a super light weight set (1300g)? Is these a noticable difference compared to a more-or-less standard mid 1600g selection?

Thanks for the idea. I've checked out some other I9 combos, but somehow missed this one. Their spokes are aluminum right, (since they can be annodized)? If so, how does that feel compared to a steel alloy like a Comp or SuperComp spoke? The I9 ultralite claims to be stiff, does any one have experience with these? How much of a wheel's stiffness (assuming properly built) is a result of the rim strength compared to spoke selection (aluminum I9 straight guage v. SuperComp butted steel alloy)?

Sooooooo..... Why are you so concerned with your bike's weight? After a certain point you're just making everything fragile. Whatever floats your boat though.
