Are the Truvativ Elita Isis Cyclocross Cranks decent? I've seen them around for under a $100
Tim

Elaborate please.

I would not. Velo Orange has lovely, polished Sugino cranks for less than that. If you wanted to spend more, you could buy a Veloce compact and a suitable TA or Stronglight ring for the correct gearing.

Agreed, Sugino has beautiful cranks. Nashbar has had the Centaur Carbon Compact cataloged forever. Seems nobody wants a square tapered crank anymore. Decisions, decisions which crank to buy. I always thought lower level Campy was a good buy.

I have this crankset and I've not been happy with it. 300 miles in and I bent the large 48t chainring 90degrees, and I wasn't even torquing on it too hard. Since then I've had to replace the corresponding chainring bolt three times. First time it kept coming loose causing some annoying creaking. Second time the bolt simply broke. Third time I couldn't keep it tight.

I had one for a year and a half and bent the spindle on the drive side, wasn't to impressed.

Not too awe inspiring. Are you going to replace it?
