Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Hi my dear northern neighbors, I have been looking to buy (not printe) "Cycling in Quebec" and the map of La Route Verte with no success. The Velo website only has the French interface and French version of the Cycling in Quebec. I even checked Amazon Canada, they are out of stock.

Do you know where I can buy an English version of the above map and book? I could have printed pieces from the website but I prefere to have a published copy with me.

Thanks!

Sure thing, call this place and see if they can ship you one, approximately $20 I believe. I would give you mine but it's outdated by 4 years.

Maison des Cyclistes (translates to "Home of The Cyclist")
1251 Rachel
Montreal, Quebec
tel: (514) 521 8356

If you need to pick one up in person at this store:

I want to add that 90% of the bike shops in the province of Quebec have the guide to the Green Road (or "Route Verte").

thanks, xfimpq! I just called up the bike shop you recommended, they do carry the English version but it will take at least 3 weeks to ship. I am planning for a trip around labor day and they are hesitant because a delay of me getting it is highly likely. I will see if I can have a Canadian friend pick up a copy for me. It's good to know that they do have an English version

Let me know if I can help. I live in Montreal and could arrange to pick-up a copy for you and have it courriered out.

Best,
Ron

Thanks again, Ron. We have decided to do something spontaneous this time - will roll into a bike shop to pick up a map when we arrive and just ride on :giver:

If you just happen to spontaneously :D ride into the Old Port of Montreal, drop by the Latitude Amsterdam in the Jacques-Cartier bassin and come and say hi. We'll be sailing into port Thursday 28 August and staying at the Old Port for a bit over a week before we head down to Quebec to run our next Bike & Boat Tour.

In Ottawa, you must ride the Rideau Canal or Gatineau Park, especially on a Sunday. The Gatineau Park parkway (and a number of other sites around Ottawa) is closed to traffic on Sunday and is opened only to pedestrians, roller bladers and bikes.

Cheers,
Ron

Hey Ron, we might very well roll into Old Port of Montreal by accident and say hi ;) I am taking down your Ottawa notes - we will indeed go there on Sunday!

happy sailing!
