I live in the Ashburn, VA area, and I often see good size groups of road cyclists, 20+ riders sometimes, out for rides together after work on weekdays, around 6:00 - 7:00 PM. Looks like fun and I would like to join in with them.

Can anyone give me any information on this? Where do they meet up, what days, is this a club, are new riders welcome, etc?

Could be a ride that starts at a bike shop. Ask around at the bike shops in the area.

If it is on a Thursday night, this is the Reston Bike Club group ride. It leaves from Herndon at the municipal lot near the caboose on the W&OD (Mile 20). Ride start is 6PM and is usually divided into 5 groups based on distance and ride speed. More info at http://www.restonbikeclub.org/folder.2005-05-04.8602713417/weeklyrides
