OK everyone. Now go check the screws that hold your cleats on. I lost one today. Fortunately, I found it (my shoes take a longer screw) I was near home.

Did that a couple weeks ago. Barely avoided a crash because I could not get unclipped with the loose cleat. I learned to check my cleat screws every couple rides.

Mine are rusted on very tightly.

Whenever I fit new cleats (NoT often by the way) I really tighten down the clets with the allen Key- I then get the 6" long allen key out and really tighten them up

I fear there are a lot of cautionary tales between 539 and 654 that I'm not at all privy to, and it makes me nervous.

Would this indicate that people who use clipless pedals are very likely to have a screw loose?:D

I am not sure which comment is best, the use of the blue loctite or the idea that clipless riders have a loose screw. Both have a lot of merrit.

Funny thing. My wife lost one. Days later we stopped at a portapotty and she got off her bike. I held it for her, looked down, and there was the screw. Pretty funny!

...Or that Mojo Slim favors a longer screw - in his shoes.

Longer isn't always better, sometimes it's how you twist it. :D

When one of the screws from my cleats came loose, I immediately put loctite of them -- no problem since.
