I've just bought a Trek XO 1 which i intend to use mainly for road use, i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to changes to the component set-up to make it more suitable for road use (or if there are any components which anyone thinks are out of place)

The set-up is as follows:

Headset: Cane Creek S6 sealed cartridge bearing.
Crank: Ultegra Hollowtech 53/39.
Front der: Ultegra 9sp.
Rear der: XTR 9sp.
Shifters: Dura Ace bar-end 9sp. shifters
Brake levers: Ultegra.
Brakes: SRP Mr. Grumpy cantilevers with all titanium hardware
Wheels: Ritchey Aero wheel set with Ritchey hubs and spokes, 32h rear and 28h straight lace front.
Cassette: Ultegra 9sp 12-25
Chain: Ultegra 9sp.
Pedals: Koski clipless

I have to admit i know very little about bikes so any suggestions would be more than welcome.

What size and type of tires are the only thing I would look at. Everything else is good.

Ditto the tyres. A tough 28mm is good for winter road riding. You can switch to something lighter and faster in summer.
This time of year, you will need some mudguards (US: fenders). SKS make the best.
You have clipless pedals; can you ride a bike well. They are not suitable for learners.
Your gear ratios are classic road racing. Most CX bikes have lower gears, which are useful for less athletic riders or steep hills, but if you like the gears they are OK.

You may find that you are missing a saddle.

Thanks alot for the replies, really appreciate it
Oh and the saddle is a WTB SST.
I'm sure i'll be fine with the clipless pedals, i've ridden a couple of bikes clipless before and haven't had a problem. I actually cycle quite alot on various bikes (none of them mine though), so am relatively experienced when it comes to cycling but completely in the dark when it comes to choosing equipment, components etc.

Thanks again
