Fifty Plus (50+) - New pedals for my new Sidis

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
My "little black dress" bike -- black with red Spiderman-like detailing -- got a new pair of pedals today.
Shimano M520. Yep, that's right...........
I've gone clipless !!! :eek::eek::eek:
To keep my feet firmly planted on the ground (so to speak), I'm sticking with my pink helmet....... I've not completely flipped to the dark side.
When will this madness end??!!

Did you get the black pedals or the silver ones?
I got the black. To match the dress. :-)
Like these at REI... (http://www.rei.com/product/705311)
A new saddle will be next, when you start going over 50 miles regularly.;)

Good choice, Yen.
I have 520's on the road and touring bikes. I still have the dual-sided pedals on the mountain bike as I need to get the feet on the ground quickly when riding it:o

A year ago I scoffed at clipless, now I'm wondering.........
If I ever end up with a good SWB 'bent I'll need clipless for sure.
Yep, I'm even reading clipless posts on the internet now.
Good fer you, enjoy.

Nice! My Giant came with a set of those and I liked 'em quite a lot.
In fact, they're what inspired me to ultimately give the Zeros a try.
The 520s are on my Kaitai, now. :D

Oh no.......... I've already thought that when this one wears out, the next one will be a Brooks B17.

I only wish all of my shoes could be as comfortable as my Sidis. Gone clipless ... welcome to the dark side.

Haven't had the A 520's long enough to talk about length of life- but Bought my first M515's-Forerunner of the M520's about 10 years ago. They are now fitted to my son in laws bike But I have yet to repair- Adjust or replace any parts of those pedals in all the time I had them. But My riding p[artner jhas to replace his Platforms every couple of years due to wear. And he does not buy cheap platform pedals either.
I have got on so well with the A 520's in the 2 years I have had them and life of them seems to be up to Shimano's usual standard. Only problem I had was that I used the Them with my old shoes fitted with the original cleats. I kept adjusting up the tightness- until I got new shoes and cleats. Had to do a couple of circuits in the road before I could get a foot out on my first attempt at stopping as the Old cleats were a little bit worn.
