Road Cycling - please give feedback about motobecane bike

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I am in the market for a new road bike. I have never owned one before. Can anyone give some feedback on this bike? I came across it on bikesdirect.com and it seems good for the price because of the 105 components. Does anyone have experience with this brand? Any recommendations for bikes in the $1000 range? I attached the picture and information to this post. But I've never done this before, so I don't know if it will work.
-thanks a bundle

I had concidering the Mercier Draco from bikesdirect for $1095 but as my first road bike, but decided against it because since they have no dealer network i couldn't see one up close. Since this will be your first bike I plus most people here will recommend going to your local bike shop (LBS) so you can be sure to get a bike that fits properly. A lot of times your LBS will work with you and give you a pretty competetive price on a bike.
I bought my LeMond Tourmalet yesterday from my LBS for $1049 ($140 off MSRP). It is an Ultegra/105 mix.

I bought my Motobecane Mirage from Bikesdirect and I'm quite happy with it. It's a lowend bike but I wanted something cheap to build the way I wanted it. I've seen some reviews in Bicycling magazine that praised Motobecane for building bikes with great components at great prices.

Bikesdirect sells that bike on eBay, as well.

The Motobecane brand, of course, goes way back. Luis Ocana rode a Motobecane to victory in the 1973 Tour De France.
My first real bike was a Motobecane Nomade purchased in 1975 when I was about 14 years old. It's up in my attic. Gotta get that one running again one day.
The name Motobecane for some folks is synominous with it's line of reliable mopeds.
