I just received my 1999 Bianchi Brava in the mail yesterday, picked it up on ebay for under 200 bucks... Everything looks great! After a derailleur adjustment, new chain and some TLC on the handlebars, I'll be set.

And now to my question, the bars are wrapped in "celeste" tape, anyone know of any online retailers that sell this color? Or possibly any local Texas retailers that sell Bianchi odds and ends?

Thanks ahead.

Yep, I'm absorbing all this Bianchi stuff like a sponge!

As I'm new to all of this let me ask this; all of the components are Shimano 105... Any resources or bits of knowledge regarding upkeep, replacement or anything else I should know? Is this line sold currently, or has it changed at all?

Thanks. :)

Cinelli makes bar tape in Celeste. I use black, since I tend to soil lighter colored tape way too quickly. My bike is Celeste- the only correct color for the faithful.

Glorycycles.com would have the celeste tape you want as well as bianchiusa.com
Also every now and then on ebay someone will have it, just search bianchi, yes I know there are gun belts and other things named bianchi, but every now and then you will come across bianchi cycling items such as jerseys, bib, bar tape, etc.
Good luck and good choice :D

I also live in Houston and ride a Bianchi SL Alloy with Campy Daytona. I've bought many accessories from bianchiusa.com. Also, Boone Cyclery on Crawford street carries Bianchi's

I'm building up a Celeste Bianchi at the moment. I too have been debating the Celeste tape, but I'm afraid I will get it dirty to quickly. Can anyone tell me how often I would have to change the Celeste tape on a bike ridden dailey?

If you use the plastic tape, keeping it clean wont be hard, but the cork tape is harder to keep clean.
My old school bianchi brava has the plastic tape that does have very little padding, but my gloves make up for that and the tape is always clean, where my bianchi giro has the cork tape and I have not TRIED to clean it.

I have a red Bianchi with red cork tape that doesn't stay clean on its own. I've found that hand cleaner wipes work great at cleaning them up without doing damage to the tape.
My newest Bianchi (92ish) is pearlescent white with Celeste decals, seat, vinyl bar tape and cables. The hand cleaner wipes work well on that one, too.

The chainstay will go, but I don't think I'd ride around for a second without reflectors with the way people drive in this town. :D

Uhm, I don't think you want to get rid of the chainstay.
Here is the definition of Chainstay from Sheldon Browns Bicycle Glossary:

Chain stays
The (usually tapered) tubes that run from the bottom bracket to the rear fork ends.

So, either you're gonna carve up that new frame, or you're gonna get
rid of the spoke protector?

Really like the matching framepump, very classy looking.

I'm pretty sure we're talking about the protector. ;)

Very nice. I like the black with celest decals and tape. It makes it look like a negative. Eyecatching.

Right now I'm going to re-wrap the bars in celeste, ditch the white hoods (too dirty) and look for a new saddle/seatpost. Any suggestions bianchi lovers?

Get a celeste saddle like mine. Then that's all you need.

I bought the frameset and Celeste saddle used from a guy that decided not to build it up. The bike I built up myself from various new and used parts.
