I am about to change the tires on my cross to street instead of nobs. I'm running Hutchinson 30s on it now, but want something smoother for the street. Do they make a 30 street type or will I have to go down to a 28. What are the major differences? Will I get more flats with a 28 over a 30? I don't want to give up the smoother ride by going down too narrow. Comments appreciated.

If you don't mind 700x35c, the Bontrager Select Inverts I use are smooth and quiet if a bit heavy at 500gr.

I've ridden the Continental Top Touring 2000 tire alot. (28) It's got a great ride and very good durability. Last year I put 3000 miles on a set with no flats.

I just ordered a set of Specialized Armadillo 28s. They have a great tread and punture proof, too. I get them in about a week. Thanks for the tips.
