Hi guys,
Yesterday I took a little spill. I bent my front rim and tweaked my fork a bit. I order a set of mavic 717 with shimano xt hubs. As far as the shock, the LBS said I may be fine with it, but hey this seems like a good time to upgrade it. My bike is a cannondale rush 6, what do I need to know before I order a new fork? Any suggestions on a decent fork? Thanks for the help guys.

Nothing, really, the headset you have on the bike will work for the new fork, as long as the steerer tube diameter is 1 1/8".
As far as specific suggestions go, we need a price range. The main thing is to try to match the axle-crown distance to not affect the geometry too much.

Really?? I thought there was more to it. What do you mean by the axle- crown distance. Aren't they all the same pretty much? As far as price, I guess not too worried about the price so lets say under $750. Thanks.

Well, to keep you geometry the same as designed, you have to get a fork that is the same height. The travel length is usually used to measure how "tall" the fork is, but a more precise method is to use the axle to crown (a to c). If your rush is a 08, it came with a 100mm recon. You want to keep more or less to this travel. If you budget's really $750, look at the high level Reba's and also the Fox F100.

Just ordered the Reba from Performance Bike. With the 15% off special they had today it was $450. Thanks for the help guys.
You could have gone with a 120mm fork, like the fox f120. They sell a few rush models with that fork, and thats what I have. It slackens the head angle a bit and raises the bb height a bit (not much).. making it a nicer ride imo. Considering the rear is 110mm, I think 100mm is to short for the front. Oh well.
