due to financial weaknessess I'm thinking of fitting disc brakes on my rear wheel and leaving the front wheel with their present v-brakes (with the intension of fitting disc brakes on the front wheel when I can afford).
has anyone out there got this mix of brake system on their bikes and if so,what are your views on it.
I would think that the opposite would be better since most of the braking power comes from the front wheel.

You,ve got a good point there coda1.Thanks mate.
I have seen many set-ups using a front disk brake with rear V-brakes.. works well.
i've seen someone using disc rear and v-front. he says he likes to slalom the rear end out for fun.
