BMX - which bike??

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

wats wrong with the 4 pack or the dayton??
They way around like 32 pounds and you could get a Kink Roc that has 1000x nicer components and like 26-27 pounds and will feel 1000x nicer.

They aren't bad. But I got my four pack used for $200 shipped. If I wouldn't have found that I would have gotten a kink whip. If you have the money get the best bike you can.

If you have the money get the best bike you can. If $500 + shipping is what you have to work with which bike in a 20.75" full CroMo streeter?

Yea go for it. Right now you are looking for a starter bike. So don't be worried about exact specs get a decent bike and go from there. You will end up replace parts and getting new parts for the one you don't like.

buh i plan on geting the 09 models as soon as there released Why wait? All the research you do now may mean little when new models release. I am in a similar position as you and think I will draw the $ line at 420. The two I am considering are the Kink Transition w/20.5" TT and a Stolen Heist w/20.75, gusseted frame tabs and 48 spoke rear wheel. They both weigh about the same and and have full CroMo F & F. Once I figure out what TT length is right for my 5'9" height will determine the selection. I plan to not do any hard core trick riding, just have safe fun and hopefully keep my old bones connected where they are supposed to be ;). Anyone know first hand what the different attributes of TT length in my case are? Also at about 165 lbs is a 48 spoke rear wheel beneficial for me? I plan on jumping, but nothing crazy.

TT lenght is different for everybody. sometimes a longer TT can feel shorter, and maybe vice versa. right now i think mine is 20.25, and it feels too small. but ive ridden 20.5's that felt smaller than the one i currently have. it just depends on the angles and stuff. im 5' 10", and i feel comfortable with anything above 20.5. it just depends on your preferences.
http://www.bikeguide.org/guides/geometry/geometry102.php has the skinny on geometry.
But seriously, you're talking about two bikes with a difference of a quarter inch. Don't stress the theory so much, just test ride them both and buy the one you like better.

1. Spanish BB is just a different bottom bb nothing you need to worry about right now.
2.Smaller chainwheel= more room from the ground to chain wheel which helps keep it out of the way.

and the smaller drivetrain just reduces the weight a little bit more. and with Dans bikes, i think its really simple stuff like putting the pedals on, and the bars. and maybe something with brakes/cables too. do what you can, and whatever you cant do, take it to someone who can or a shop.
and please stop double posting. just edit. its in the bottom right of each post.

would it be easy to put it together my self?? or wat If you are half way decent with using basic hand tools and have some it's a piece of cake. Setting it up yourself will get you acquainted with your new ride and help you to know what/how to fix things when needed.
yea i wana assemble the bike my self...if i can lol:)
nd if i run a gyro how much more weight would it add on the bike??
