I got a trek with 600 in 86, it was indexed with aero hoods. I'm pretty sure it was the first year they went aero...so that would make your bike a 85. A friend of mine had a vitus. They made the head tube on the steep side to make it quick handling to make up for the soft tubes. It's a great bike!
