I presently have a Rans Stratus with the T handle bar. I am thinking of changing out the T handle bars and installing the chopper "high rise" bars.

Has anyone had any experience with the different handle bars on the Stratus and which ones did you prefer? Which are better and why?

Does anyone have experience changing from the T bars to chopper bars? Is it easy or hard? :recum:

Please let me know if I'm making a mistake by changing the bars.

Thanks for your help and advice.

Michael

If you buy them from Rans, they will tell you which riser you need for the bars. I think you just change out the riser and put on the bars.

I have the stock bars on mine and like them. You might also ask Rans if the current cables are long enough

I had bars made to my spec for an EZ Sport before the chopper bars bars came out. I wanted a longer handlebar to reduce arm reach and needed different wrist angles. The Rans chopper bars will accomplish both easily. If you are not comfortable with the T-bar, by all means switch. I have been really happy with bars that were made to fit me. bk

The RANS adjustable chopper handlebars furnished with my Stratus LE are more comfortable than the T handle bar on the older RANS Gliss. The chopper handlebars also provide a horizontal section for mounting lights, bike computer, etc.

Thanks to all of you for your comments! I have an e-mail into Rans to make sure that my cables will be long enough to install the chopper bars and to find out which riser height to use. I really had not considered the usefulness of the crossbar on the chopper bars, that is a great benefit indeed. Thanks for that idea. I also think that the ability to adjust the height and grip angles would be very useful for discovering my comfort zone as well. The older I get the more important it is to find the most comfortable position in all my pursuits.

The T bars are not too bad over all, but they do not have the same adjustability as the chopper bars and I just like the looks of the chopper bars. So I think that I will order the bars and riser as soon as I hear back from Rans.

Thanks for your help!
