So I raced the 3's @ the Concord Crit at scenic White Park in NH.

Did it last year as a 5, it was my first official race ever... ahhh, the memories.

Anyways, I got a short warm-up and got to the line. Construction in the park had cut down on attendance, but the course was in excellent condition.

The second lap passed and the 3rd lap brought a serious attack off the front, which I, sensing a lull in the pack's timeliness quickly bridged up to.

So, before I knew it, I found myself in a 4 man break working at 100%. We stayed away for 8 (8 miles) laps or so but got swallowed up halfway through the 8th lap, for which a preme was called. (my computer showed over 26 mph average, thus far, I recall. Not too bad.

I quickly became pack fodder as I recovered a bit in the next two laps.

The rest of the race was a stupid-fest for me, where I burnt needless matches attempting a few weak attacks/bridges. A shameful final 7 laps... I guess after that break I was just too satisfied and I failed to make better choices in the final laps. I held decent position for the 2nd to last lap, then lost it after a wasteful attack. A shame.

I sucked wheel to a midpack finish. Boo.

But the break was tremendous fun!
