Hi all XGI here from oscoda Mi. I'm the new guy here and was looking for places to ride with my wife. She not into mountain biking or big hills. We've been to grayling/gaylord and she really like those places.

We've hit the island a few times and mackinaw city as well. Maybe the west side?? I told her petoskey looked good for me but she said only if she can take her moped:lol: thanks....x

The east side and central Michigan are relatively flat. If you don't like hills stay away from petoskey and the west. I live in Boyne and like hills so I am not much help to you.

Thanks fred for the info. I was over petoskey a few times. I wish I could have brought my bike. For sure get some cardio on those hills. My wife likes to ride as long as it's pretty flat. Me I like the hills for the ticker and it helps keep that spare tire flat around my middle. good riding to you......x

Boyne Highlands. Check out www.mmba.org for info on riding that area. There are some pretty active forum members from that area, and they're great people. :-)

If you want road riding on the west that is not too hilly, take some if the routes that circle lakes. Near Interlochen, Mi, there is Green Lake, near Interlochen State Park. That circle is a 12 mile flat road route.

Another nice one is in the Leelanau Peninsula, Upper Lake Leelanau. circling the lake you'll find minor hills, about a 16 mile loop. Then there's the eastern Glen Lake, near Glen Arbor, which has one major (for Michigan) hill, called Inspiration Point. Finally, the loop around Crystal Lake near Beulah is longer (27 miles?) and pretty flat, with one major hill on the west end.
