In the market for a new wheelset... intended use will be primarily racing. I have 1 set of OP/DAhubs, 1 CXP23 that I use for back up and Cyclocross. I am interested in something with a deeper dish... around $700.00 .... Any users of the American Classic 420? How about the Veloamax Tempest II... how about the Ascent II... it is not a as deep dished as the others, but nice wheel? I race in Pennsylvania, NJ... mostly rolling courses. Is it even worth it? I know it won't make me win races...but... still interested. Getting new wheels and big $ items is always a fun and intersting experience. I bust my ass for my $$$ so it is definetly a reward. If anything it gets me more stoked to go out and ride my butt off.! :)

Thanks...

zipps?

Can I get Zipps for $700.00

I didn't think I could. I was looking second hand, and they were still more. for 404's or 303's

HED's are good aero wheels, and cheaper than zipps You should be able to get a New set of jet 60's for around 7 bills. Or a nice pair of used HED ALPS.

What zipps should I keep my eyes out for 303's 404's

what would be a good all around, more aero wheel... the 303's?

Thanks

I have Ascents and Campy Eurus. I don't think the Ascents are an every day wheel (especially the low spoke count frony.) Supposedly, the Eurus is available in Shimano spline. I highly recommend them.

RolfPrima Vigors. The Amclassics don't even have a machined brake surface, and the hubs are made in the Orient and there has been some QC issues in the past.

If you want carbon and high zoot, of all the types of wheelsets I've seen in that category, nothing can touch the Bontragers. The quality of the carbon layup and finish blows everyone out of the water.
