I can get the correct chainline & clearance by adding a 2.5mm bottom bracket shim to the drive side.
However, the non-drive side would be 2.5mm shorter. Is that okay structurally? I guess I could add
a shim on the pedal as well. let me know your thought. thank you.

Chances are, that if your left pedal got moved in 2.5MM (0.1 INCH) without your knowledge, you would never notice it.

2.5 is getting on the "lots of spacer" side of things. Just make sure your left cup will still retain the bb if it's far out on the right.
