Every year I hear about this "Superbowl" thing on TV and every year I attempt to tune in to watch the game. But everytime, instead of seeing 16lbs. balls flying down oil-slicked hardwood lanes and pins tumbling end-upon-end, all I'm greeted with is some football (American football for you folks not living in the US) game.

So this year, I've decided to just skip the parties and see about going for a bike ride (assuming the weather cooperates... or maybe regardless...). And I was wondering what others had planned.

Hope the weather's nice for you. We Minnesotans are trapped on indoor trainers currently. My spinervals videos are almost ground into nothingness.

As for the 'superbleh' I plan to do some shopping and other errands while the game is on. I was thinking of checking out one of these 'arena football' games one of these days to see what it's about.

Anyhoo, have a nice ride.

Super bowl Sunday - I make a bowl of guacamole, grab a 6'er of my favorite brew. Drop my butt in front of the ole boob toob and watch the weather report. At that point I decied either to hit the high hills (snowboard) - or the low hills (like yesterday - for the MTB) and I do what people do that like to do - and not watch. When I get home from what I like to do, I enjoy the guac. and the beer - and the fact that I enjoy what I do and not others do.

Superbowl? Screw that...Arsenal is playing tomorrow, I will be at a bar, 10am watching that and celebrating a good friend's birthday.

IMO (and it doesn't apply to tomorrow [except the StuporBowl]: Better to have watched the world's worst soccer match than to have ever watched any US Football at all.)
Want to play a really tough sport? Try Rugby. I played it for 4 years before my knee decided I was done. No pads, no time out between plays. But I guess the shorter match times pisses off all the fat, lazy Americans. With more time for a US Football game, they can eat more...and get fatter. Good for you!

The Superbowl has taken on a new meaning hear in the Carolinas. It seems like everybody has become obsessed. I'm going over to a friends house to watch the game but its more about hanging with buddies than watching the game.

The plan however is to ride this afternoon to make room for the extra calories.
