Hey everyone, I live in AZ and do some light mountain biking all around the valley. I currently ride a 2008 Giant Sedona, that I originally purchased to get around town after getting a DUI... Now I have a car again and can drive but am starting to get into mountain biking. I know my bike isn't technically a mountain bike but, as is, it handles simple trails and can actually take quite a beating.
As of now it is purely stock. No upgrades or anything. I'm getting it tuned up tomorrow for the first time and want to know, should I look into upgrading this bike? Or should I get myself an actual beginner mountain bike?
And either way what parts, components and brands should I look at for either choice?
Money is quite an issue, so if your suggestion has anything to do with spending a lot ($500+) on a new bike or a lot on crazy good parts I don't need at this point in the hobby, don't bother. Like i said I'm a beginner, but i can feel that my current setup wont take the abuse much longer.
