I have been saying for a while I would dump Shimano if SRAM would come up here as a full on supplier. Looks like I will be switching over. Happiest moment this early season so far :D

I wish that I could find one of the older Sram front deraillures. I tried to see if Paul would make either of his front or rear der's for me, but he claimed that they wern't even worth my money.

Not suprised at all.

I have been waiting patiently...quite excited now because all the shops should be getting some sram stuff in soon.

This kind of shows how well Shimano Saint is doing, not well at all especially since they did not get sponsorship at Whistler Mountain Bike park.

Good call, as Shimano is obviously the devil.

It is interesting that the Shimano haters all cheer with glee when another manufacturer attempts to monopolize the market just like Shimano. So SRAM (which I like BTW) has just signed a contract to lock Shimano out of a bike company in Whistler. Is that really a good thing for mountain biking? I guess if you’re on the Shimano hate-bandwagon, it is!

I happen to think that these types of financial arrangements hurt the consumer both fiscally, and also regarding choice. For all of you who are blinded by Shimano-hate, please reread the article, but plug in the word Shimano for SRAM. Now do you think this is a good thing? :D

I perfectly agree with you. I was maybe sentimental on my remarks. It is exactly the same policy that srams implements in order to fight shimano. I guess the results of the war may be of some good to us. Competition usually brings down prices and ups the quality.

Simply a sponsorship thing for the mountain itself. All the shops are still able to sell what they want and when they want. We are just talking about a fleet of 500 dh bikes given to them by Kona. I guess my title was a little misleading.

Yes it is a good thing. There is no monopoly here just a great advertising chance for a company. Now if they had come in and told every shop to only carry sram I would agree with you completely.
