After having my bike nicked (still brings a tear to my eye) I'm in the market for a new bike. I'm thinking of getting a Specialized Stumpjumper Comp disc 2004. I've checked mtbreview.com but they haven't got any reviews, although last years model was well rated. If anyone has one or has ridden one I'd appreciate any feedback. Also are there any parts you would swap out before leaving the lbs, such as saddle, seatpost, headset, etc ?

It does indeed look like a sweet ride. That is one of the bikes I am considering. Another is the FSR version.
