I currently use 700x35 tires on my tour bike. I've heard good things about the Conti TT 2000. My question is, how much of a difference will a 700x32 be from a 700x35? The Conti only comes in a 32 or a 37, or am I wrong? Will a 32 tour as well as a 35 loaded? I know that you guys are the ones to ask, I've learned so much so far reading all the posts. Thanks.

It really depends, since most tires vary widely from make to make, but I don't think it will be too much to really notice. What 700x35 tires make do you have on???

Many people consider thhe Top Touring to be rather narrow compared to their published size. On my Bontraeger Farlane rims (with Trek 520), the 700x32 measures 28 mm wide, but the 700x37 measures 35 mm wide.

So measure what you have and how much clearance you have around your tire and fender. Chances are that the 700x37 will be close to what you have right now. On the other hand, if you are relatively lightweight, don't load your bike too much, and/or have good roads, the 700x32 will accelerate more quickly.

BTW, my Trek 520 originally came with 700x32 TT2000. The front one is still going strong after 15000 km, but I changed the rear one for a 700x37 to get a smoother ride especially when pulling a trailercycle and a full touring load over our bumpy roads and streets.

I currently have Bontrager Select K 700x35 on my Trek 540. They have been pretty good, however, I'm going to change them for the start of the new season and I want to feel confident about my tires.

I think Conti are fairly honest about the size of their tyres. The 32mm is about what a 32mm should be, and wider than many other brands for that designation.
In UK touring clubs, 32mm is std issue for camping on OK roads, or with light hostel loads on rough tracks. 37mm is usually used for camping loads on rough tracks.

I've used the 700x37 Continental Top Touring 2000 tires. They were terrific: smooth riding, decent wear, and only one flat in 2300 miles of loaded touring.
