I'm currently running an FSA Gossamer Cyclocross crankset on my commuter. I'm happy with the 46t big chainring, but I was thinking about swapping out the 36t small ring for a 34t ring. I was about to purchase the small chainring when I went to a retailer's website and saw that the 34t small ring is designed especially for the 50t big ring.

Would I have any trouble running a 46/34 combo with this crankset? Seems like it would shift better than the 50/34 combo since it's a smaller jump up to a 46t ring than to a 50t ring.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Sounds good to me. 14T seems to be the ideal spread for a double. Good luck
