Another question: does anyone know anything about the Optimo Si tubing. I recently bought a Cannondale Cyclocross with the Optimo SI tubing. I've been searching for information, with little or no luck. Is there a difference between the Optimo used in the R3000, R2000 and the tubing used in the Cyclocross (same Optimo name)? Thanks ahead of time for the responses.

Optimo is the name of the aluminum alloy that they have developed. The frames themselves are of a different design, but the tubing is made from their Optimo aluminum alloy. Just picked up my R3000 yesterday. Great on the trainer, but I can't wait to get it out on the open road.

Wouldn't the cyclocross use a heavier (thicker-walled) tubing that the road bikes? I'd think you'd want more wall thickness to reduce denting and give more strength. If you know the weight of your frame, that would confirm it....believe the CAAD7 weighs under 2.5 lbs in 56 cm.
