Euro is about 1" in diameter, and the cups are threaded.

Pro: Easier installation
Con: Smaller bearings, less choice of BMX style crank sets

Regular (American) is 2" in diameter and the cups are pressed in.

Pro: Strong, smooth, lots of choices
Con: Diffulcult installation, BMX industry size tolerances are all over the place (meaning some cups fit super tight, or not at all. Some fit super loose)
