Hey all. Not sure if this is the right forum for this, but I was thinking about selling my mountain bike and have no idea what its worth since I built it myself. Any help would be appreciated
Frame: Jamis Dakota AL (2005; gray ano color, 19")
Fork: MX pro + ETA 120mm 2005
Crank: Shimano Hone
F/R Derailleur: Shimano XT
Chain: Dura Ace
Cassette: XT
Wheels: Garcia DT Swiss 4.1 w/ Hope Pro II hubs in red, DT Supercomp spokes 3 cross
Post: Thomson Elite
Saddle: WTB Pure SST
Brakes: Avid BB7, Avid SL levers
Bar: Easton Monkey Lite AL
Grips: ODI lockon
Headset: CC Solo
Pedals: Wellgo platforms
Shifters: SRAM rocket
Computer: Cateye Enduro 8
Shimano XTR cabling
Stem: Sette Edge (kinda cheap and the black ano is more of a steel gray, but its light)
Tires: Bluegroove F (90% tread), R (60% tread)
Everything is in tip top shape. No crashes. Very few scuffs even. Less than <300 miles on all components, except the fork which has probably <600. I just serviced the fork with fresh oil. All components except frame and fork are 2006 model year (and the frame and fork were purchased in 2007 and 2006, respectively). The bike has a lot of red ano bolts, bottle cage, skewer and QR seat clamp to match the hubs (not all are a perfect match, but close). Mostly commuter duty, with about 200 miles on XC type trails. Oh but I did take off the Marzocchi fork decals since they were cheesy on the 2005 model and it also has some superficial scratches on it, but is in very good condition. The only other thing is the frame would probably be better suited to a 80/100mm fork geometry-wise, but I think its okay as is.
A friend might be interested in the bike--and I've also considered putting it on craigslist. I figure a new bikes spec'd like that would be in the $1700 range maybe (considering the higher end wheels)? I was thinking half that? Am I way off?
Thanks!
Matt
**NOTE** This is NOT a classified. I'm not trying to sell it here in some round about way. I've paid for and sold things here before, so I know the deal. I just want to know what a fair price would be....
