I'm heading to the bike shop tomorrow to pick up an extracycle. I plan on putting it on my uptown 8. I was wondering if anyone here has put one on an uptown and where there any issues? I mainly thinking of the 8 speed hub and will it effect how the extracycle attaches.

Your thoughts?

My wife has a Breezer Uptown and she/we love it. I think you can move the FreeRadical forward/back in the dropouts to get the chain tension you need. Maybe the bigger issue will be finding long enough cables to drive the shifting... check this thread from the Xtracycle forums:

IIRC XtraCycle was offering a complete S.U.B. based on the Breezer Uptown at one time. They may have had some issues with it or it may not have sold well. Contact them and ask. I suspect the extra long cables may have been an issue too. I considered adding one to a Raleigh 3 speed but passed on it for the time being.
