Sent my check in on Friday...then my kids (all 3 of them got the hellacious puke hell storm) I think I have a hex on my pay to rides:eek: The last time I attempted to pay to ride a century the same thing happened:notamused:
So let the health rain upon our family....and in other news: WHO'S RIDING THIS CENTURY???:D
I think I'll be there for the metric.
Sorry about all the hurling up there, don't you get it too!
Shifty:
OK, guess you will be going.....don't know if I will see you.
I might be riding with 1 or 2 first time Century riders, one who's already done about 85 miles at the Watermelon, the other one at about 65 miles for a PB.
So I might not be going real fast.
Will look for you at the 1st couple of rest stops.
Thanks Shifty, I'm doing my best to fight the germies, so far:thumb:
Well if you see a girl turning as red as her bicycle, suffering and:cry:ing then say hi!! That would be me:p
We could plan a Bike Forum meet-up at the start, then ride from there at our own pace. All we need is a time to gather.

I am signed up for the the metric plus. This is my first metric as well as my first organized group ride. I am taking a small camera with me for pictures of the tour to post afterwards. If we wanted a BF member picture at the start, I would be game for that too. The weather looks to be fairly nice as of right now, so I hope to see some of you there.
I'd love to meet up. I'll be staying with a friend at the Phoenix inn on Saturday night. I ride a red Specialized Allez Elite. I will most probably have a coordinating jersey :P, light blue helmet and ready to roll at 7am :)
So should we meet at 6:45 (ouch!) at the registration table. I'll hold up a sigh that reads "Shifty"
Skip, will you be there that early? Hill-pumper?

I should be able to do that. I live 10 minutes away from the fair grounds, so that should not be a problem.
I run late as a rule, but I'll do my best :thumb:
Can you start holding your sign at 7:55? :p:p
oops, see i'm so late running...I meant 6!:55

Gaahh.....Criminy that's early. It's almost 2 hours to the fairgrounds from my place and I haven't got co-ordinated with anybody else over here so far about anybody riding with me.
And I have to register, get ready, etc., etc.
Last year I stayed with a friend in Corvallis, so I was able to get there by 7, but this year....???
I''ll have to see how it goes tomorrow evening getting ready.
Sounds like some are doing the metric and some the full century, so the routes split after the 1st rest stop.
I know, this is all Ticia's fault:p I'll be there early to meet and greet, but I may start riding a bit later. I'm riding the metric, so you can ride with me if you'd like.
Liz may be coming too, she is going to let me know tomorrow.

What a beautiful ride!! We had a nice group of BF people, it was fun to meet Ticia, she is a real strong rider, she even blew off the lunch stop, she just had to keep hammering those hills!:D
Great way to spend a nice Oregon Sunday!

Where were you guys at. I looked for someone holding a sign, but could not find you. I hung out until about 7:20, then took off. Anyway, it was a great day to be riding and enjoyed a fine metric. :thumb:
That was a great ride and my 1st century!! It was really nice to meet some friendly BF people and put their faces to their names. Sorry we missed you Hill-Pumper. I think we must have rolled out at 7:40ish perhaps? I was on a mission to just ride this thing as fast as my legs would take me so I wasn't my normal sociable self ;) I tried to make my rest stop breaks go like this: refill, refuel, go potty, roll. Anyhow, my goal was to finish in under 7 hours (total time) and I achieved that goal so I was happy with that. I had some major stomach cramping from mile 52-82. I think it was due to the advil I popped at mile 40. I was feeling great and should have just skipped that. I also missed the lunch stop so I think my stomach started eating itself from lack of solid food to churn on.
Great day and such a beautiful area, my camera battery was not charged so I only got one picture darnit. I was envious every time I saw someone snapping pictures of the bridges...ah well next time.
And Jerry, were there hills on this ride :P??
Darn, sorry Hill-pumper, I had the sign up for a while, then I had to register and get ready, so I was in and out of that area. Next time we can exchange cell numbers.

No worries here folks, we will just have to meet next year. I have a post with pictures from my ride if you want to look at them on the Clydesdale forum here on BF. Since it was my first metric, I did a ride roport for the guys and gals there. Here is the link to the post if you like.
