This is the first year. Helped to design the course. Its going to hurt, a lot. The Rt 10 section is ridiculous, all up and down and all steep. 23 is a long ass grinder of a climb. 23A is something like 3.5mi @ 7%. 23C through Jewett is all up and down. In short, its going to be a great race.
You're all lucky. Justin Lindine and I almost convinced Deiter to put Devil's Kitchen in (2mi of double digit gradient uphill).

windham is such a nice place

my wife is going to divorce me. races every single weekend of the summer then a 4day race followed by a 2 day race.

luckily i've got a uncle who lives right in windham mt. i'll crash at his place for the weekend. so would you say my 39/25 would suffice enough for the climbing that we're going to be doing?

You are one sick puppy KP. Is that the 23A climb going up towards Hunter Mountain? That's one helluva climb to race up. That will shatter the field.

I was crossing my fingers for Devil's Kitchen. Still, 23A probably suits me better.

Is that the 23A climb that heads up towards Hunter?

In that case it would only be fair that the idiot who suggested that route be compelled to race with a Barrecrafter ski roof rack on his back with four pairs of Volkls attached.

Yeah me too, I have a Mets game to watch on TV and a Domino's Pizza to eat, or I'd be right there grinding up Rt. 23A in the 35+.

I don't think I will make it down. Deiter puts on great races so you know this one will be a lot of fun. I just stink at climbing...
correction: I stink the most at climbing.

If it is 2 miles of double digit avg grade, I wouldn't run a 12x25. Not sure how long that will take. Just trying to think. 2 miles @ 10% is probably.... 15 minutes? I cant stand and grind for that long.

23A is something like 3.5mi @ 7%.
The section of 23A you're referring to is the climb from Palenville up to Haines Falls. But the ToC website shows the course as coming south from Windham to Haines Falls and then west to the finish at Hunter, which would avoid the section of 23A that you say is included in the race. So which is it?
