Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Anyone have the new '09 Rockhopper? Not really finding too much out there for them.
Was looking at a used '08 Rockhopper disc for $550 but the lockout doesn't work. Considering whether I should just get the new one instead but the MSRP is around $770.

Well the used Rockhopper is out, the seller has decided not to sell. So I'll be waiting for my LBS to get the new '09 models.

I don't know where you live, but in Arlington Va. there is a bike shop named Contes that is selling the 08 Rockhopper for 625. I just got it, and am a newbie beyond belief. do you have any idea if this was a decent buy? I did research, but feel really, well, new and would like advice on all aspects of mountain biking and the Rockhopper.
thanks in advance...

All the shops out here in my neck of the woods have been out of the '08 Rockhopper Disc (the model I'm looking for) for some time now. Which model Rockhopper did you end up purchasing? I'm a newbie as well so my opinions may not mean too much.

I got the Disc...
It's pretty nice, took it for a ride yesterday.
I plan on trying to get back into shape on it for a week or two and then taking it to a more techinical trail, in Great Falls Park, Virginia. you may want to check this...
