Bicycle Mechanics - Help us with some sizes
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
basically im fitting this little digital thing onto my bike and my tyre size is 26 x 2.0. On the settings I can either set it to "26 inch (650a)" or "ATB 26 x 20 (650b)". Now does anybody know if the 26 x 20 refers to 26 x 2.0, just without the "." . Help appreciated :)
or a simpler question would be, what is 26 x 2.0 is millmeter measurement?
if you are trying to figure out your tire circumference for your computer, you should actually measure it to get the most accurate reading. Circumference will differ from tire to tire (a lot) and even for different tire pressures (a little).
line up your valve stem on the bottom of the wheel and mark it on the floor. roll the bike until the valve stem is again on the bottom and mark the floor again. measure the distance between the two marks.
you can check these tables if you don't want to measure yourselft
roll the bike until the valve stem is again on the bottom and mark the floor again. measure the distance between the two marks.I understand you should be on the bike during this. The diameter is effectively smaller with your added weight.

The 26 X 2.0 setting should be close enough for your application. The "." must have been left out as a function of translation in the instruction sheet.
