So... with the year about to end... what was/will be your 2001 mileage?
9,012 km - 5,600 miles - for me.
I'm sorry to say it is not nearly as much as I'd hoped for. Only about 3000 miles.
But I hope to do better next year. ;)

My life is a shambles. With a week to go of the old year, present mileage is 7259 or 11,614 KM. Last year I did 8399 Miles. Like the sound of the 11,614 KM. better. Of that 2257 miles or 3611 Km. were commuting to work. My central coast tour was 377 (603 km)
Last year's without a tour,- 8,399 miles( 13,438).
Disappointing. .About One week to go. My goal is to have a 10,000 mile year.
2000 miles this year but the riding season is much shorter than I would like in the cold, dark north. My trusty steed "Silver" and I will get in much more next year.
Merry Christmas everyone!!

Only 780 miles, but I got my bike in late October, so I think I'm doing okay (considering that I don't have time to do the 40-mile round-trip every day into the office).

The only mileage I have a number on is on my commuter bike. I bought the computer for it in May and logged 1030 miles since.
Late start this year, so about 4000 miles

Bought the bike May 21st of this year, and have commuted 1,850 miles. :D
Ha ha. I have 247 miles on my bike. But I got my bike in the summer. And before that I was using a Univega, I rode that alot but I didn't have a computer on it, so I don't know what that mileage is. Plus I was using a buddies road bike for awhile, and I don't remember how many miles I put on that. Then the fork on my Fisher broke. So I have been bike starved since late August or early September. But, my fork is out for delivery right now, its been on the UPS truck since 5 am this morning! I can't figure out why it's not here yet!!

I am 72 miles short of 5000 as of today, so my hope is to get that in the next day or two. Last year I had 7100 miles and had 6000 miles as the lower limit for this year's goal, but life intervened. Poo.
About 2,200 miles.
Less than some of you big time bikers, but this is my first year in cycling and I never expected to achieve that much. It's been great to set goals and surpass them - (specific trips, day totals, speeds, certain hills, and total mileage).
My wife thinks that I'll take the fun out of riding by having goals but I enjoy it. I'm already planning more goals for the next season.

I'm doing this at work so I don't have the exact figure in front of me, but it's a hair short of 5900kms. (3540 mi)
Not as good as I was hoping for, interrupted by house buying, moving, injury and the usual excuses, but better than last year, and I promise to do more next year.:D

I honestly wouldn't have a clue. I had a computer stolen earlier this year (my wallet went the same day  ). I do know that it would have been absolutely heaps. I ride year-round and my weekly km can range from 250-450 at any given time. There was also a 1300km tour in there as well.

I bought the computer in May and had just commuted 1000 km when BAM, I crashed into that car on July 27. I haven’t used the computer since, although I was up on the bike again in September.
And Chris, although I often envy your sunny December beaches, I must say that I love the decimeters of snow that cover central Stockholm a few days back! I don’t bike though...
12,000 miles for me.
However, remember I use a bike for nearly 100% of my transportation, so it's not like I logged thousands of high sweat training miles; just substituting a bicycle for a car.

Not sure. Really!
Ask me again, at the end of 2020, how much gas I saved so far.
:)
(Mike, the question was, 2001 mileage. ) ;)

2100 miles on my cyclo-computer. However, I didn't use my computer during February and March. But I doubt that would have added more than 200 miles. This year is my first full year of serious cycling, and I'm really happy with the results!:)
Best guess is about 8000 miles since last january.
2100 here. I've averaged about the same the last three years.
Mike - 12,000 - wow! Way to go! All the more impressive given that you live in a area that lacks good year-round weather. I only put 9,000 on my pick-up.

Ya, man. I bike all year round. If you see a salty rider in the winter without a load of aluminum cans on his bike, it is probably me. I bet you've seen me.

Actually, I like our winters better personally. Just on our sunny beaches, I had a Norwegian friend at university who was going to have a few days spare to spend on the beach after she finished the semester. Up until the end of the semester it hadn't rained here in about three months. As soon as she finished and actually got some spare time, guess what the weather decided to do?
I know I shouldn't, but :D
I'm told they are under a metre of snow over there.
I think 6000km. I started using computer in August and only on the road bike.
I think it would be interesting to compare our fossil fuel cars' mileage with our bike' mileage.
I think i did more in the car (8000km) which i find hard t o believe! I guess driving around to clients places from work really adds up in kms.
So, my goal for 2002 is to do at least 8000km on the bike and less than 6000km on the car.

It will be right at 4000. I didn't start logging it until February so I don't know exactly.

4,450 miles so far (Does that convert to about 6,800 kilometers?) . . . with a few more days left in the year to get it to about 4,600. About 1,000 more than last year . . . and next year, I hope to add at least another 1,000.;)

I did 10,330 kilometers, that is riding from April 2001 until this morning when I have to go, to the the local beer store to buy me a 12 pack of canadian to celebrate christmass with my wife and my son Miguel (Iggyboy)
7048 mi this year. the most miles I have ever had in one year. Might of had a few more but it turned very cold in western N.C. Back to the trainer, yuk. Shawn
About 1,340 miles on the bike and 10,000 in the Land Rover.
The new year resoultion will be to make it 2,000 miles on the bike

Why not do 10,000 miles on the bike and 1,340 miles on the Land Rover?
Coincidently. why a Land Rover? Do you work in the forest and requires 3-ton of 4-wheel drive?
I don't mean to be as sassy as that may sound.:)

12/31.-Just completed my last ride for the year. Total for 2001- 7,475 miles or 11,960 Km. Last year I did 8,399 miles or 13,438 Km. Disappointing. Best month for 2001- May- 868 miles.

My best month for 2001 was August -- 1783 km or 1108 miles. August was a good month.

I did 18,700k but got a good boost by cycling from Vancouver to Louisburg N.S. (7,900k) and by riding in to BCIT every morning with my son.

Sounds like a great cross-Canada ride, how long did it take, what bike did you use, what route?
I want to hear all about it!

It took 53 days. My wife is a photographer and we have a VW Westfalia so every AM we would agree on a campground for the evening and go our separate ways. My bike is a Litespeed Classic with Chorus 9s. We left May 13 because we had to be in Stowe VT to take care of a B&B for some relatives starting July 20, but really this was too early. Still lots of snow in the mountains and killer headwinds which don't change to westerlies till mid June. For example one day in Sask there was a 50k headwind with gusts to 65...I rode for 10 hours in the drops the whole time and did 81k. Other than times like that it was awesome.
Just a bit over 19,000k. thats on a singlespeed with one brake. i loved that bike... it got stolen on thanks giving night. :(
daily riding around all of the lakes in minneapolis will do odd things to your walking :)
