I usually don't publicy complain about a biz, but i want to warn you guys about these people. I ordered a replacement rear wheel (Mavic Ellipse) and paid on 7/14. I have been given the run-around ever since. I have been lied to about when my item would ship (they last said it shipped friday 7/25). Now they don't even answer their phone. They have never returned an email. They listed the wheel as "in stock" so there is nothing i could've done to avoid this... except maybe do a google search first. If I had googled their name i would've read numerous complaints by buyers who had the exact same experience. I have filed a dispute with paypal. Hopefully I get a refund. Carry on.

I am in the exact same situation. I ordered about the same time. I have since sent some emails concerning lock rings but nothing in regards to the item shipping. However I was kinda wondering if it was going to show up anytime soon. So I decided to phone them. They answered on the first ring and were very helpful. They said the wheel will ship Friday the 8th because they just received the shipment from Mavic. The USA distributor was out of stock. This does co incide with their response to my lockring questions.
I do think I should have recieved an email stating the fact that the item hadn't shipped or was back ordered. Other than that they have been pretty cool about it.

^ BikepartsUSA 2 weeks ago told me "Oh, you are getting the very first wheel from the new Mavic shipment. Your wheel goes out Friday. " Its been 12 days since that Friday shipping day, so it was BS. It sounds like you were told the same thing only your Friday is coming up. LOL what a joke. This makes me want to go to every badbiz.com site and copy/paste my complaint. I have found a lot of complaints about the same thing. None of them ever say if they got their item eventually or not. I hope paypal will help me.

call your credit card company/bank & have the charges reversed asap. send your business elsewhere to the more reputable online shops that wont dick you over: ben's, licktons, thebikebiz, business cycles, etc.

^ I do buisness with bens and many others. I agree. I tried here because it took me a long time to find a bikeshop with a rear Ellipse wheel (not a pair). Nobody had it in stock... except these guys said they did. They were liars. Now no return emails & no answering the phone. I will get my dough back thru paypal.

Well I just opened a dispute aswell. My dealings with paypal have been great. This is a pretty open and close case. If they don't respond to the emails paypal will side with you. If you have a couple complaints launched paypal usually freezes the account. Hopefully they have an account full of cash because paypal won't let them withdrawl the funds until things are cleared up or payed out. Now the fun begins.

Even if they have pulled the money from paypal, the money is frozen.

If they are found to have to refund their account will show as a negative balance until they deposit money, or paypal pulls money from the attached bank account.

Wow lets work together. i'm going to advance my paypal complaint to the actual "dispute" status (up til now it was simply the beginning of a dispute and i hadnt escalated it). 2 official disputes in one day might wake somebody up over there. For the hell of it i emailed for the 12th time again last night... what a joke. nobody cares there.

Yeah for sure! I'm in. Mine is only at the non escalated phase aswell. I was going to give them a chance to respond or withdrawl their money..... Hopefully the first option. I did get an email back this morning swearing they have the new rims in their possession and he was mailing out tracking numbers shortly. I'm giving them till tmrw morning. Then I'm escalating the claim.
I ordered one from the UK and paid a premium for it so now I may have 2 of them for ----sakes. Not too mention the cash I"m now out.

I'll pm ya the details of my email.

By the time I finished typing this, I got my confirmation email from the UK saying they shipped my wheel already. Wow, I ordered it only hours ago. That's how this should operate. Don't feel so bad about paying the premium now.

The owner called me. Funny how a dispute makes people act. He told me 3 versions of the same story in 2 mins. he admitted BPUSA don't has any still but they're due in today. Thats exactly what they said 2 weeks ago. I demanded a refund and got one. I went off about not getting a single reply to an email. He said if you send too many emails they don't get them. HAHAHA... right.

Okay, now I have to completely change my view on BP USA. Morgan had called me personally and asked if I needed that Mavic wheel still. I said no but depending on the priced I could use a spare? He made me an offer I couldn't refuse. With shipping to Canada. 3 days it was on my doorstep in perfect condition. Yeah maybe he couldn't sell a couple that were left over but he did take the time to try and make things right. Probably expecting me to tell him where to go! Long story short I will purchase from him again. Most likely over the phone instead of the net though.

Thanks Morgan!

I've ordered from them many times. Prices are good. Good catalog of inexpensive parts* for the plain ol' bikes I typically deal with. Website is not so great; descriptions are often sparse and photos blurry or even incorrect. Shipping speed in my experience is OK but not great; takes an extra day or two to get out the order sometimes. They repeatedly have not followed instructions I wrote in the notes field to not ship UPS but to use USPS -- I wonder why the notes field is even there. When I have phoned & asked that the order be sent USPS, they have complied. But I have found they are sometimes difficult to get ahold of on the phone. They have answered emailed inquiries promptly enough. They gave a small$ refund for a defective item w/o questions.

My verdict - A unique & worthwhile & not too expensive catalog of parts, service ok but not perfect. Website could use improvement- descriptions, photos, shipping options.

(*They also have higher$ parts but I typically am not seeking those.)

I have ordered from Bikepartsusa.com over 15 times in the past 5+ years , There prices are very fair and shipping is fair as well. I have had two times where a item was missing and they sent it out within 2 days no questions asked.... I was kinda surprised to see this page come up, but i know when service is expected and given no remarks are made. Yet if I have a bad one i tell my friends ... so maybe thats the case here .. But I can say Im a happy customer of there's and will continue to order.
