Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - anyone here actually trying to gain weight?

I'm guessing the answer would be no but I thought I'd ask..... in the bodybuilding sense I mean. I've actually been trying to gain weight for the past few years. I bike for cardio mainly, but not strictly for weight loss. I used to run a lot, but my knee keeps this from becoming a serious option at the moment. Though I am desiring to lose a BIT of weight at the moment (gained about 10 lbs between the point where running became painful and before I bought the bike), when/if I get back to 195 the quest to gain muscle mass will start again
would like to end up about 210/215 I think

Sometimes, but not for any other reason than I like to stay between about 225 and 235.
I have had a few months where I seem to be involved in a lot of activities that are burning off more calories than I am able to take in and I find myself down in the sub 220 range but it is not hard for me to put the weight back on.

I am currently just trying to lose weight, however in the next few months I plan on starting to do some lifting again. For the past year I have been in a completely seditary job that requires no lifting and have not added any kind of workout so have lost alot of my muscle mass. However, right now I'm mostly focusing on the scale.

I'm not trying to gain weight, but I do bike to build strength. I'm 240 now and I guess I'd like to get down towards 210, I don't see myself much below that, especially as I'd prefer to get stronger in the process. I run half-marathons and and picked up biking this year to commute and cross train, and get some 2+ hour endurance rides in as I don't like the 9+ mile training runs.

Well, I guess yes. In the sense that I want to lose fat (in general) and build a lot of upper body strength (of which I have pathetically little) and I'm guessing my weight will yo-yo a little in this process in that the fat will fall before the muscle is gained.
I'm trying to lose fat, and if I happen to gain mass then no problems. I have found it easier to do the weight lifting, biking, walking vs. one area alone. In my circumstances I get bored very easily doing the same routine over and over so it's better for me to cross train. I like Chad Waterbury's routines as most are only 3 weeks in length. I pepper in some rides in open air or on the trainer, and then walk around any other time.
I also don't do a whole lot of running as it's hard on my knees due to my gait and poor shoe selection :)

Nope, my body building days are over. I stopped after some bloodwork indicated I was in very poor cardiovascular health and in very high risk of heart disease at 22 years of age. Then I picked up cycling, however like vXhanz (been a long time since I saw you post :)) I too get bored with just cycling as my only form of exercise. Don't get me wrong, I am quite passionate about it but I don't use if as my only form of exercise. In addition to my cycling I'll play some racquetteball with my friends and tennis with my wife.

I will probably get a little bored with cycling at some point as well, and it bugs me a bit that my knee isn't quite up to snuff for running or basketball or things of that nature..... my only other viable option would be to swim but I'm still a little burned out even though its been 5 years since I've done it religiously. I just can't muster the emotional strength to push myself to do 4 miles per workout.
I figure with cycling, it will at least offer me a way to do the same exercise in new scenery a lot of the time, which might help keep it fresh.... as opposed to running down the same streets every evening, or staring at a black line for 2 hours

I, like others, am trying to lose weight, then increase lean muscle mass%. If this means that I end up putting some back on, that is great. I will never want to weigh 250 again though. I would be happy getting to 210, which is my goal, for this year. That would be 40lbs from end of may to 12/1 specifically. When I get there, I might push to a sub-200 weight, which I have not seen since my freshman year in college. Once there, I will re-assess and design goals for next year.
For now, cycling is my primary exercise-20 miles per day commuting, and extra miles thrown in during weekend rides and commute stretches. I also try to run errand of 5 miles or less in radius from me by bike.
In the winter, when miles might be a bit more hard to come by, I plan on hitting the gym more. My wife and I joined a new gym that is opening in our area that has a lot to offer. With the weight that I have lost, I plan on starting to play basketball more, and they have a court. My wife likes swimming and they have a pool. Also, it is on my commute route, so I can stop in on the way to/from work, and get my work in.
