Introductions - Hello from Marinette, WI

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I've been biking seriously since I bought my Univega Gran Turismo in 1982. It now has over 40000 miles on it, including my trip to Alaska in 1983. My most recent ultra-ride was 302.8 miles in 25.5 straight hours to Rochester, MN in April '03. I commute 9 miles each way to work year round. In the winter I ride my Trek 6700, which I have Nokian studded tires for the slippery conditions.
It'll be fun to correspond with other fellow bike enthusiasts!

Welcome to BF. Looks like you'll be giving us pointers. Are you a member of RUSA (Randonneurs USA)? Do you have a website with your travel log?

No I'm not a member of RUSA. What is RUSA?
I have no web site. I did keep a manual log of my Alaska trip, and of course took plenty of pictures.
Welcome to the Forums. You'll find 2-3 other NEW residents here as well.

Also, like where you live. Just go across the river and you are in the UP..Love to be able to bike there.

The UP of Michigan is very beautiful, and is included in much of my biking. We're planning to buy a tandem, on which my daughter and I hope to do a UP tour this summer.

Like to figure out how to put a 'Say heah to the UP bumper sticker on my bike' ..My car has one...Enjoy the Pasties...L'Anse is best for that treat.
Wisconsin is beautiful, but the hills are less hilly, than those of the UP...No?
