I'm curious to know if salt can effect the amout of lactic acid you biuld up while riding? Two years ago the night before one of my rides I was eating sunflower seeds in the shell and the next day my legs were really slugish.Do you think it was because of the salt intake?
Hey do you ever look down at you legs and say Why are you doing this to me I know you've got more than that to give!!! :D

An electrolyte imbalance may be more the problem then an excessive build up of lactic acid. Not sure if that's the actual problem here or not. If you have too much or too little of an electrolyte it can affect how the muscles react.

Unless you work really hard (around 85% effort) you won't build up lactic acid, unless you have a funky LDH enzyme. Under everyday conditions, a normal person simply won't build up lactate; the body gets rid of it too fast.

Thanks for the reply! I even over hydrate myself two days before the ride to make sure muscles are hydrated for the long ride.Whats an LDH enzyme?

Could be, indirectly. Salt causes water retention which, in general, makes me feel cr@ppy and sluggish.
