Hey, I'm looking to buy my first real bike. I was previously riding the recalled Vertical PK7, bought at target for $90. Target refused to honor the recall, but at that point, the bike already had the **** beat out of it.
A friend suggested REI for a real bike that doesn't have a massive price attached, and I looked into it. Their Novara System 1.0 looks great for me, and it just so happens that there's a store near me with one left in stock. It's my size too. Here's a link to it - http://www.rei.com/product/760854
